Students registered for In-Person classes must be able to abide by the COVID-19 Restrictions (see below) to attend.

You can register for Institute classes by either calling our building (801-468-5885), sending an email (to [email protected]) or logging on to the Institute Class Locator (icl.churchofjesuschrist.org) and registering for classes.

Fall 2020 COVID-19 Restrictions

  • Students and teachers will be required to wear masks at all times while in the building. This policy comes from the Church, and we know that there are great blessings associated with obedience. Please have students bring their own personal masks. We will have a few extra in the building if a student forgets.
  • Adaptive needs students are encouraged to practice wearing masks to get used to them before attending in person.
  • If your student cannot wear a mask for personal or health reasons, please sign up for the Live Online classes offered by the Institute instead.
  • Institute staff will thoroughly sanitize desks and commonly-touched surfaces before and after each class.
  • Because many of our students are immunocompromised, please check the temperature of your student each day before attending Institute. Students who have the following symptoms need to stay home:
    • Fever (99.5° or above)
    • Cough
    • New loss of taste or smell
    • Sore throat
    • Congestion or runny nose
    • Nausea or vomiting
    • Diarrhea
  • If you suspect that your student may have come into close contact with someone infected with COVID-19, please have them stay home for 2 weeks, even if they do not show any symptoms.
  • There will be no attendance consequences for students who stay home due to illnesses, but please let us know why they are absent!
  • Please notify the Institute immediately if your son or daughter is diagnosed with COVID-19. Seating charts will be mandatory in each class, so that contact tracing protocols can be followed in the case that we discover a student has COVID-19.
  • Desks will be arranged in the classroom to allow for as much social distancing as the space will allow.
  • Space for meals and lunch in the Institute will not be available during this time. Please make sure that students have eaten before they arrive at Institute.
  • During this time, there will be no Institute activities held outside of regular classes.
  • As the situation with COVID-19, we hope to relax these adjustments. As we do so, we will closely adhere to directions given by the Seminaries & Institutes leadership, as well as the CDC.
